This channel describes updates to the personal web site of Bob and Diana McElroy of Point Alexander, Ontario, Canada. The several sections of the web site include: the communities, landscape, flora, and fauna of the upper Ottawa Valley and neighbouring Algonquin Park; a personal photo journal depicting our continuing exploration of this environment by foot, snowshoe, or canoe; and material relating to our family history -- the pioneer McElroy Family of Richmond, Ontario and the Graydon Family of Streetsville.
(This feed includes a compilation of all updates to the website except for "the View from Point Alexander" and the "Algonquin Web".)
- The McElroy Family of Richmond, Ontario, Canada
I am a great great great grandson of Henry McElroy, who with his wife Joanna Chambers, and their children Patrick, John, Mary, Robert, and Margaret formed one of the original military families that settled in Richmond, Ontario circa 1818. Over the years a great deal of information had been collected about Henry and his many descendants. But with the death of my father, George Eldon McElroy Jr. and my great aunt Kathleen Anna McElroy, much of this information has been forever lost. I would like to collect here what I do know before the remainder is lost.
