Watercolour Paintings

by

William Maurice Merrick McElroy

William Maurice Merrick McElroy, was the son of William McElroy and Edith Alma Rielly. He was my grandfather's younger brother and a great grandson of Henry McElroy and Johanna Chambers.

He was an excellent watercolourist. Unfortunately, some of the samples presented here have suffered through years of improper framing (nonarchival materials) and storage. However, in spite of this, his light, deft touch shows through.

Elm trees along the Jock river -- unfortunately, mostly gone now -- are a consistent favorite theme.

With only a couple of exceptions, these pictures have come down to us without titles or other supporting information.
