Fall: Deep River Waterfront and Rapides des Joachims
2019 October 21 and 24
As we mentioned in a previous post, the fall colours this year strike us as being very vivid. Here are some recent photos from along the Deep River waterfront and from Rapides des Joachims (Swisha). The photos from Swisha are from the boat launch and from the Dumoine Road Bridge (ZEC Bridge).
October 21 was bright with a slight overcast whereas the morning of October 24 had some dramatic mist.
We went for paddle from Achray to the top half of Grand Lake in Algonquin Park. The fall colours this year are amazing -- to the extent that our photos look fake. The day started off near 0C with mist, but turned into a gorgeous fall day, and only a slight breeze.
We recently went on a short paddle on the Barron River in Algonquin Park. We wanted to examine Cache Rapids at the current very low water levels. It was a beautiful calm fall day. Here are some photos from that trip.
