Deep River Summerfest 2022
2022 July 31
Summerfest returned to Deep River after a four year absence. Kudos to the organizing committee for pulling this together during challenging times and special kudos for maintaining a full musical program in the face of various last-minute cancellations (due to illness and other issues.) The Laurentian Hillbillies and The Long and Short (with friends) often stepped into the breach.
The sound and onstage lighting and effects were excellent.
The weather cooperated, ranging from a little cool with a trivial amount of precipitation on Friday to hot and Sunny on Sunday. The crowd on Saturday for Jason Blaine was amazing.
The various photos below and the previous pages are representative of the performances I attended. My attendance was limited by my stamina only; there are no value judgments here. Performances featured include:
- The Laurentian Hillbillies,
- The Over 40 Garage Band,
- The Ghost Town Cryers,
- Doug Stewart,
- The Long and Short,
- Jason Blaine,
- In Session,
- The Danah-Lee Band,
- The Squirrel's Nuts,
- Gillan Rutz,
- Gavan Rousseau as "Johnny Cash",
- Gavan Rousseau as "Elvis",
- North Renfrew,
- Black Water Brigade,
- Sawmill Road.
An enjoyable (but tiring) weekend.
