McConnell Creek

McConnell Creek cuts a deep gully through the Petawawa sand plain and empties into the Ottawa River at Point Alexander.

The name, McConnell Creek, dates back to at least 1861. It is named after the McConnell brothers, Robert and Benjamin, who were active in the timber industry and who owned a considerable tract of land in Rolph Township in the mid to late 1800s. They operated a stopping place and a sawmill.
