Looking for wild flowers on the four seasons trail in Deep River

Flower Walkers

Today's picture is by guest photographer Joan.

The theme of this week's walk on the Four Seasons Trail in Deep River was wildflowers. We found a good selection, although many were not yet in bloom. The list included: Canada mayflower, trailing arbutus, serviceberry, fly honeysuckle, rose twisted-stalk, rattlesnake plantain, various violet spp., hobblebush, goldthread, starflower, twinflower, partridgeberry, wintergreen, bunchberry, strawberry, red trillium, dandelions, and fringed polygala. I'm sure I forgot some.

The walk was very well attended. And of course the dogs enjoyed the outing, even if they did exhibit a certain lack of respect for some of the plants.
