Poison Ivy
... in flower, on the Quebec shore of the Ottawa River near Point Alexander.
Almost two weeks ago, I posted Urban Duck. These two are becoming quite the local moochers. Quite regularly, when I'm out paddling on the Ottawa near Ryan's or Presqu'isle, I'll hear the whistling of wings overhead and then two splooshes as these two ducks land expectantly beside the canoe. Today, the female actually boarded the canoe; she landed on the gunwale and then hopped onto my pack. I slowly reached for my camera, but she was having none of that and hopped overboard. No picture without a treat first, I guess.
Regular visitors will be interested to learn that Diana won the April / May 2007 Photo Contest at Algonquin Adventures. She is very pleased and honoured considering the high quality of the various entries.
