Brent Store on Cedar Lake in Algonquin Park

Brent Store

As the sign says, "Downtown Brent Business District". But of course, this is the only building in downtown Brent.

We first patronized the Brent Store in 1976 at the halfway point of a trans Algonquin Park canoe trip (Trip Log - Canoe Lake to Brent and Return). At that time, Brent was a divisional point on the railway. However the tracks were removed over ten years ago and no permanent residents remain. But the store still operates and is run by Algonquin Outfitters, catering to canoe trippers and summer campers. Our understanding is that its most popular product is ice-cream cones, but it also provides complete outfitting (if prearranged).
