Under the Corry Lake Bridge
I went for my first paddle of the season yesterday (Friday) on the Chalk River between Hwy. 17 and Corry Lake. The river is open but the lake is still ice covered.
I like to paddle the Chalk River as early in the season as is reasonable. As I get older, I no longer feel it necessary to paddle it as early as is possible; I now wait for a nice day. This year's paddle was probably at the highest water level I have yet encountered; any higher and I wouldn't have been able to squeeze under the bridge.
