It's Gone! The ice has gone from the Ottawa River at Burkes Beach. (It sneaked out when I wasn't looking.) The river is still ice bound at Deep River, but that should clear in a day or so. And if you really wanted to go for a paddle, I'm sure that you could get your boat out amongst the ice floes.
