Newly Formed Beaver Meadow A year ago this view would have been of a beaver pond. But upstream a dam burst (see: Washout: The Destructive Power of a Burst Beaver Dam) and washed everything away downstream. Now the bottom of this former pond has been colonized by a lush growth of grass. (This view is from R8 looking downstream towards R9 in the Petawawa Research Forest.)
