I believe it was photojournalist Robert Capa who said: "If your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough." In this case, I had no interest in getting any closer. I met this mother bear and her three cubs while out walking in the Petawawa Research Forest. After I announced my presence, they decided that they had no particular interest in making my acquaintance and faded off into the bush. However, they did take a disconcertingly long time to reach this decision.
