Deep River Waterfront The Ottawa River remains clogged with ice at Deep River, even though it is clear 3 km. upstream at Point Alexander. Actually that's not precisely true. The past several nights have been cold and calm. Each morning the river at Point Alexander has been covered with a thin skin of cat ice that disappears by mid day when the wind picks up. It's not quite canoeing weather yet, but it's ideal maple sap collecting weather.
